Salary: $19.50 per hour
Schedule: Tuesday & Wednesday 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Thursday 12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Friday 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
3rd Saturday 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
(We would be willing to split this schedule with two people)

Friday – Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Position Title: Library Assistant (Juvenile Reference)
Classification: FLSA exempt, up to 12 hrs. /week
Reports to: Head of Children’s Services
Overall Responsibility
Responsible for working with other staff planning, preparing and implementing storytimes and other programs, plan and implement 4th-6th grade book discussion, reference and reader’s advisory, monitoring and maintaining the room and perform other related duties assigned by supervisor.
Primary Duties:
· Provide reference, readers’ advisory, and referral services to patrons, in person and by telephone.
· Maintains familiarity with the collection and assists in maintaining quality of collection.
· Explains basic library functions, services and resources to the public.
· Operates and maintains library equipment.
· Keeps informed of current events and of developments in the library field.
· Maintains current knowledge of library technology.
· Perform other related duties as required.
Physical Demands:
1. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. The type of physical demands usually associated with this job include stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching overhead and horizontally, handling, talking, hearing and seeing.
2. The employee must occasionally push/pull up to 50 pounds and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Required Qualifications
1. At least three years experience working with children
2. References must indicate reliable attendance, punctuality and attention to detail.
3. Access to a reliable means of transportation
4. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions in the English language
