The Albert Wisner Public Library has an opening for a part-time Library Assistant in the Children’s Department. The position requires working approximately 18 hours per week. Responsibilities include planning and implementing children’s programs, providing assistance with patron inquiries, and collection development.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with cumulative one year experience planning and conducting programs for preschool and school age children.
The schedule is:
Tuesdays: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM,
Thursdays: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM,
2 Saturdays per month: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM 2 Sundays per month: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
The wage is $24.50/hour. Some paid sick time is included.
If you enjoy working with children and their parents/caregivers, have a passion for fostering a love of reading and learning in youth, and have a sense of humor, this job is right for you. Good computer and social media communication skills are a plus.
