The Tuxedo Park Library welcomes applicants for the part-time position of Adult Services Programming Coordinator. We are looking for a dynamic, customer service oriented individual to join our team.  

Responsibilities Include: 

  1. Programing Coordination and Implementation -Manage adult programming on a 3 cycle basis each year 
  1. Special Event Coordination and Implementation -Artist displays, Author Events, Seasonal Events   
  1. Outreach- Serve as a liaison to other community agencies serving Tuxedo residents 
  1. Professional Development –Attend meetings and participate in professional library organizations (APOC and OLA) 
  1. Local History –Organize and maintain the local history room and answer local history research inquires 
  1. Other -Staff the circulation desk on a minimal basis 
  1. Additional duties as necessary.   

Education and/or Experience and Skills Required: 

  • Graduation from high school, Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred 
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the above listed knowledge, skills, and abilities is required. 
  • Excellent public service skills are essential 
  • Good oral and written communication skills. 
  • Possess knowledge of library methods, policies and procedures 
  • Ability to physically perform the duties associated with setting up programming space, which include lifting, bending, and pushing. 

Hours: 

Monday 9am – 5:30pm, Tuesday 9am – 5:30pm, Thursday 3pm – 9pm 

Wednesday 9am – 3pm (July – August), Sunday 11am – 3pm (September – June) 

Total Hours:  27 – 29 hours per week 

Benefits: 40 hours of paid sick time annually, 58 hours of paid vacation time annually, time and a half pay on Sundays 

Pay rate:  $22-24/hour commensurate with experience
