The Sloatsburg Public Library is seeking a dependable and friendly person to join our Circulation Department in Teen Services.
HOURS:
17 hours/week. The Library is normally open 6 days a week. Schedule will include day, evening and weekend shifts. Applicants must be flexible.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with planning and running Teen programming
- Create fliers for promoting library programs
- Staff the circulation desk as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires: strong customer service skills; the ability to juggle multiple demands; the ability to operate a computer and keyboard; the ability to speak, write and read English; the ability to express ideas clearly and accurately, both orally and in writing; to be attentive to detail; and to interact tactfully and courteously with patrons and staff. The candidate should also be able to do physical work such as standing, bending and lifting (up to 30 lbs).
Must have experience using Canva, Google Suite and MS Office. Knowledge of Sirsi-Dynix Symphony is a plus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience in recreational, teaching or training activities as a group leader.
Preference will be given to those who have library experience.
