We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking individual to manage and lead our dynamic Adult Services team. Love of literature and learning is a must. Strong interest in and experience with programming and services for adults required. This position will also be the point of contact for all IT contracts and services. Passion to work in a team-based and customer-focused environment that strives to provide top-notch services to the community at large. Vision for 21st Century library services required.

Examples of Duties:
● Leads a team of professional librarians (3 FT, 3 PT) in serving a supportive community of committed library users
● Supervises, schedules, and evaluates the work of subordinate professional and clerical staff
● Participates and directs staff training and coaching, specifically technology training
● Manages materials budget and collection development for Adult print and digital collections
● Provides excellent customer service, continually evaluates the patron experience looking for opportunities to improve services,
● Coordinates development of adult technology programs and services to meet community needs, including Tech Tutors and basic computing classes
● Organizes and oversees all inhouse technology, including inventory, developing use procedures and use assistance and education
● Point of contact for outside technology contractors including telephone, IT, and copier providers
● Actively pursues outreach opportunities. Schedules and manages outreach to businesses and community organizations to promote library services, build relationships and deliver programming
● Assists with online technology product management and education, with technology such as the website, database, Google products, etc.
● Writes or assists with development of grant proposals
● Arranges, directs, evaluates, presents and publicizes a broad and substantial number of programs and activities within and/or outside the library
● Represents the library at community and group meetings and in the development of community contacts
● Keeps informed of professional developments, library trends and technology through participation in professional organizations, system meetings, workshops, continuing education courses and reading professional materials
● Drafts, updates, and communicates procedures and policies.
● Assess services, collect statistics, and prepare reports for internal and external use.
● Handles complaints and deals with problems as they arise.
● Observes, evaluates, and makes recommendations to the Director on staff performance.
● Participates on interview panels and selects staff, with the Director, for the Department.
● Other duties as assigned.

The position requires one weeknight per week and one Saturday per month.

Starting salary $85,000, depending upon qualifications. Membership in the NYS Retirement system. Health, vision, and dental insurance coverage, paid holidays, and generous PTO included, as well as optional employee-funded membership in Aflac, 403B, and NYS Deferred Compensation plans.
