The Nyack Library in Rockland County, NY seeks a highly capable, innovative and dynamic Adult Services Librarian for a full time position. This position is for a 35 hour work week, including Saturdays and evenings as required. The Nyack Library is located in the heart of beautiful downtown Nyack, about 30 minutes north of Manhattan within view of the Hudson River.

Education and Experience

· An MLIS degree from an accredited University

· A NY State Public Librarian’s Certificate

· Three years’ experience in working in a public library setting

· Experience working with community based organizations

· Fluency in use of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and various technology tools, including integrated library system and data reporting tools

Skills and Abilities

· Collects and maintains digital resources collections including databases, books and magazines, video games and other technology tools for patron circulation

· Provides excellent information, collections and technology services

· Assists with managing ILS system configurations, profiles and vendor specifications

· Assists with direct public service at the Reference Desk and with public and staff technology training

· Plans and monitors assigned collections budgets in consultation with the Department Head

· Plans and/or delivers public and staff technology classes

· Participates in staff committees and related library professional committees

· Some evenings and weekends are required

· Library staff are represented by the Nyack Library Staff Association

· Base rate is $49,140 annually
