The New City Library is accepting applications for Librarian I Substitutes for the Children’s Department.
This position requires an energetic personality who has experience working in a public library setting. Candidates will possess an excellent knowledge of children’s literature, a superior customer service attitude, and excellent communication skills. Experience with computer help and Microsoft Office programs is a plus. The position includes working the Children’s Reference Desk and occasionally helping with children’s programs.
An accredited Masters’ degree in Library Science is required, as well as New York State Public Librarian Certification. Ability to use Sirsi-Dynix Symphony Web ILS is preferred.
Shifts are currently available for Saturdays: 10am-2pm. Opportunities for additional hours will be offered on an “as needed” basis. Compensation starts at $32.81 per hour and is negotiable with experience. Positions to start in August.
