The Roscoe Free Library is part of a hamlet of Sullivan County, known as the community center of the trout-proud Roscoe hamlet in the Town of Rockland, and serves 500 residents. The library is located downtown near restaurants, shops, and the famous Roscoe Diner.
The seven-member library board seeks a dedicated part-time library director to continue supporting their community’s education, cultural, and access needs. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a small rural library and appreciate being the face of the library in a friendly community. The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership & communication skills and the ability to connect meaningfully with the community, staff, volunteers, and Trustees.
Minimum Qualifications
A master’s degree in library science (MLS), Master of Science in Information Science (MSIS), is preferred but not required.
Possession of a bachelor’s degree is required.
Two (2) years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
Two (2) years of experience developing and maintaining a budget.
Salary commensurate with education and experience ranges from $18 to $22 per hour.
