Librarian I – P/T

Do you have an interesting program or tech class you want to develop or need support to develop and implement? We are looking for a friendly, confident, service-oriented part-time Librarian I with good problem-solving skills to join our adult services team and grow with us. The Adult Services Librarian is an integral member of the adult services team, with a responsibility and vision for serving the Goshen community. Candidates should be flexible and adaptive, with strong skills in current and emerging technology and an understanding of the importance and role of public libraries in the community. Primary responsibilities include working at the adult reference and information desk, providing reference assistance and delivering reader’s advisory, developing and implementing programs and tech classes, collection management and promotion, and participating in developing community outreach and partnerships.
Hours include weekday, evening and weekend shifts for 12 -20 hours per week. The library is open Monday-Thursday 9-8, Friday 10-6, Saturday 9-5, and Sunday 1-5.
Qualifications include a Master of Library Service from an ALA-accredited program and a New York State Public Librarian Certificate. Competencies include the ability to:
· use common computer applications, including Microsoft Office and web browsers and operate AV equipment, computer hardware and software; and
· develop and lead innovative programs with confidence.
Good public speaking skills and an understanding of library marketing required. Experience with SirsiDynix and bilingual applicants a plus.
